StarSail Cruises has several vessels that offer hands-on sail-training to invidiuals and groups.  With licensed captains and experienced crew you will learn how to sail traditional sailing vessels.  Experienced and novice sailors alike will enjoy these adventure cruises.  Whether your dream is to become an old salt or just set foot on a Tall Ship, your adventure awaits.  All of the sail-training cruises are tax free.

As a member of the American Sail Training Association (ASTA), the Schooner Martha offers hands-on sail training to all levels of sailors. You will become part of the crew by helping raise the sails, standing watches, charting the course, and taking the helm. Some of the skills you will learn are navigation, knot tying, and sailing theory. Sail the San Juan Islands, Desolation Sound, Gulf Islands or Victoria aboard this beautiful restored 1901 schooner. 

The Schooner Martha's sail-training program is unique. Six students learn to sail on an historic 84' stays'l schooner. On board students are involved in all the activities of living and sailing as crew on a vessel. You will learn the skills of navigation, sail trim and theory, marlinspike seamanship, proper care of the ship and have time at the helm. Each student is given the book "Complete Sailor" and a crew shirt. Both youth and adult programs are available.
